Do you accept compost donations?

No, we do not accept outside compost.

Can I take compost from the garden?

No. The Golden Community Garden pays for our compost from plot fees and donations and is for is for gardening within garden bounds only.

Do you accept used coffee grounds?

No, we do not accept used coffee grounds. We have plenty of nitrogren rich bits in our compost. The City of Golden offers curbside compost pickup for your home use.

What are the plot sizes and fees for 2019?

A small plot is roughly 10x10 square feet and is $50 for the year, including overwintering.

A large plot is roughly 10x20 square feet and is $100 for the year, including overwintering.

Can I grow in my plot year-round?

Gardeners are encouraged to grow in their plots year-round. You are also welcome to use row cover.

I am a Colorado School of Mines student and want to garden, but may not be able to devote enough time for my own plot. Is there a way to share a plot with other Mines students?

Absolutely! CSM has the Mines Earthworks Club, with a beautiful large plot at the Garden.
